Introduction

I started writing because I had the time and because there was an opportunity to make a little money.  In 1987 we left Caterham, Surrey, we left computer contracting, we sold our house in the still booming South East for loads’amoney and moved to Cornwall.  My contracting company had bought a computer.  A BBC B.  It seems like a toy now, but at the time it was a real business option.  I wrote on it and printed the results.  It was cold in our stone built cottage (with roses round the door), so I built a enclosure mounted over one of the storage heaters.  In there I could roasting and writing.

I had eight articles printed in - FREELANCE INFORMER - both 1989 and 1990.  That was the peak.  Around 50 articles in total.  I wrote far more that this, but they are lost. Some existed only as a loose string of notes, some finished, polished, read, and rejected  I was paid between £50-£100 for each article printed.  I tried to branch out with other titles.  I was motivated by success.  Rejection is disheartening and silence was even worse.

The purpose of the website is to act like an anthology.  I’m bringing together all the published articles for my own satisfaction.
